Brisbane / official-source briefing Updated 11 July 2026

Turn the airport handoff into a clear plan.

A practical starting point for airport arrivals, South Bank meetings and venue handoffs. It is information only: compare options, then make contact or book directly with the service you choose.

Before departure

Make the terminal, connection and final entrance explicit.

For a pre-booked transfer, share the flight number, terminal, local passenger contact, luggage or mobility needs, and a precise meeting point. For public transport, use the official planner on the day because timetable changes and access arrangements can affect the trip.

01

Airport to city

Translink identifies Airtrain as the airport service linking Brisbane's domestic and international terminals with Brisbane City and the Gold Coast. Airport stations sit directly in front of both terminals; confirm the current service and fare arrangement before travel.

02

City meetings

Build a Brisbane itinerary around the final walking leg, not just the rail or road journey. Check the live network information before departure, especially when a meeting requires a connection between the airport line, a bus, ferry or another train service.

Convention arrivals

BCEC has three public entrances: Merivale and Glenelg Streets, Grey Street, and the Exhibition entrance at Melbourne and Merivale Streets. South Brisbane and South Bank stations, Cultural Centre and South Bank Busway stops serve different approaches, so confirm the event entrance first.

A short checklist

What to confirm before you commit.

  1. 01

Arrival state: terminal, airline, flight number and whether checked luggage changes the meeting time.

  2. 02

Meeting detail: exact collection point, contact method, wait-time process and what to do if the flight changes.

  3. 03

Venue handoff: event entrance, hotel address, floor or room detail, and the final walking route from the drop-off point.

  4. 04

Commercial detail: total price basis, tolls, parking, cancellation terms and payment timing.

Accessibility

Confirm the access route before the day of travel.

BCEC publishes an access guide and its visitor information describes accessible public-transport and entry considerations. If a step-free route, assistance or mobility equipment matters, confirm the current arrangement with the relevant transport operator, venue and chosen provider before travel.

Sources and limits

Useful information should show where it came from.

This briefing uses official public sources. Transport access, fares, pick-up arrangements and venue entry details can change, so the linked sources and your chosen provider are the final check before travel.
